Glass
took me under its spell early when at the age of nine I sat glued in
place watching the traveling lampworkers spin ships and unicorns.
Through the years my relationship with glass has come to define a good
bit of who I am. I pursued my interest through an apprenticeship in
scientific glassblowing and then on into the art glass world teaching
and showing my work. Some thirty-seven years later my fascination with
this most universal of materials is ongoing. From art to manufacturing
color and teaching, glass has been a near life-long companion.

REED (Gallery Owner) Duane Reed
Gallery, St. Louis, MO
DUANE REED'S 3 REVIEW SLOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Duane Reed, owner and director
of Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis,
Missouri, opened his gallery in 1994 where he has represented national
and internationally recognized artists in glass, ceramics, painting and
photography. With over 20 years of professional experience in
the art world, Duane has focused on the inclusion of varying materials
in his presentation of contemporary art. This allows the gallery to
bring together a stable of artists that explore sculpture without
necessary regards to strict medium designations. While certainly
exhibiting the work of legends in their fields, the gallery takes a
particular interest in creating opportunities for emerging artists to
explore. This would include invitational group exhibitions with the
purpose of exposing the work to a wider viewer base. Exemplary
of his expertise, Duane has curated over 350 exhibitions and has
lectured and served on numerous panels on a variety of art topics. The
gallery has participated in the Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art
(SOFA) since 1994 and various other art fairs such as Palm Beach 3, the
Texas International Fine Art Fair, Art Miami, Artform and Flow Miami.
Over the course of his involvement in the arts community, Duane has
participated in memberships with the Renwick Gallery Caucas, The Mint
Museum's Founder's Circle, Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis, The
Saint Louis Art Museum, Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass, Friends of
Contemporary Ceramics and the Saint Louis Gallery Association to name
but a few. He has served as a trustee of the American Craft Council and
currently sits on the board of the Creative Glass Center of America
(CGCA). Duane lives in the Central West End section of St. Louis.

Midwest in the mid 80's to complete her B.A. in painting at the School
of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, at the University of
Cincinnati. Her career reflects her belief in the benefits of visual
