2010 Work Exchange Program & Volunteer - now closed

Lower your conference registration fee and have some behind-the-scenes fun – all while helping out GAS. More than 100 people are needed in the days leading up to and during the conference. Participating in this way can enrich your conference experience and save you money! If accepted, you will pay the reduced work exchange registration fee, with commitment to work 12 hours during the conference.

Individual member Work Exchange Conference Registration Fee:

Full-Time Student member Work Exchange Conference Registration Fee
  $40 USD
* plus 12hours of work

Work exchange assignments will begin on Monday, June 7 and run through Sunday, June 13, 2010.

DETAILS

  • Applications accepted December 1, 2009 -  June 1, 2010.
  • All applicants must be able to clearly communicate in English.
  • Work schedules are assigned by the Louisville Volunteer/Work Exchange coordinator using the responses on the online survey/sign up sheet and the available slots.
  • Those that sign up first are more likely to get their requested jobs, days and times but no guarantees are made.
  • You will be contacted by email (regular mail if no email provided) within 2 weeks of applying.
  • Once accepted if you are Work Exchange you must complete the special Work Exchange Conference Registration Form and return it to the GAS office with payment.  You will not be scheduled to work until payment is received.
  • All Work Exchange participants must be current members of GAS through June 2010. (Full-time students must include a photocopy of student ID or other proof of student status.)
  • Tentative work schedules will be sent by March 1st or as applications received and must be confirmed.

If you do not complete ALL the hours you are scheduled you will be invoiced for the difference between the work exchange conference registration rate and the general on-site conference registration rate.  There will be NO credit given for partially worked schedules. A time sheet must be kept on-site and upon completion be returned proving all hours were worked.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations received in writing before April 7, 2010 will receive a full refund.
  • Any changes to registration received in writing April 8 - May 24, 2010 will be subject to a $35 administrative fee.
  • There will be no refunds after May 24, 2010.
Membership fees are non-refundable.
