The GAS Auction has become one of the highlights of the annual conference. This is an opportunity for everyone to see and purchase the amazing work of our presenters and members and to take home a piece of the conference. In addition to the works displayed during the exciting Silent Auction, approximately 25 pieces will be selected for the Live Auction from works created by GAS 2011 Seattle Presenters and GAS Board members—plus several surprise pieces will be chosen from the items donated for the auction by other members of GAS.

Donate to the GAS Auction!

We hope you consider donating a piece of your artwork—or goods or services. Expected to be one of the largest GAS auctions ever with many donors and buyers, this event will also be a great opportunity for exposure of your work. Your donation subsidizes half-price student fees and helps keep all registration fees affordable. GAS is a non-profit organization and donations are therefore tax-deductible under US law. We are counting on your support and generosity. Thank you!

Donating artists have the option of giving 100% to GAS, or to receive 10%, 25% or 40% of the selling price. Your donated work will be on exhibit throughout the conference and acknowledged in the 2011 Glass Art Society Journal.

How to Donate to the Auction:

  1. Forms: If you are hand-delivering your donation at the conference, complete the donation form at the drop-off area. If you are shipping your piece, fill out the 2011 Silent Auction Shipping & Donation Form prior to the conference and return it to the GAS office. Please also include a copy with your shipped piece.
  2. Delivery: Artists are encouraged to hand-deliver auction pieces with appropriate packing material for the purchaser. You may drop them off at the Sheraton Aspen room at the following times. Shipping is also an option—see below.

After the Auction:

The Silent Auction occurs on the evening of June 4. Shortly after the conference, you will receive a letter including the sale price of your piece, the name and address of the purchaser, and (if applicable) a check. GAS promises to handle your piece(s) with the utmost respect and care, but we are not responsible or liable for breakage, theft, or loss.

Unsold works of art that are not reclaimed by their seller at the end of the auction event become unrestricted property of GAS. GAS shall be entitled in our absolute discretion to exercise disposal of the work as we deem appropriate after this date.

Buyers:

Professional packers and shippers will be on site after the Auction on Saturday evening. All purchases are final and must be paid for and removed from the premises during the evening. Items that are not removed will be shipped at the purchaser's expense. No exchanges or refunds allowed. GAS assumes no responsibility for the shipping of purchases or for those items not picked up immediately after the Goblet Grab or the Auction. Once you have made arrangements with a shipping vendor, GAS cannot, by shipping regulations, intervene on your behalf with the shipper. You must resolve any concerns regarding artwork damaged or lost during shipping by contacting the shipping vendor directly.

GAS is a non-profit organization funded by its own membership.
We are counting on your support.

Thank you!
