Pilchuck Glass School Tour

Visit this glass mecca while you’re in the Northwest. Forty years after being founded by Dale Chihuly, this comprehensive center for glass art education still holds true to its ideal of “artists teaching artists.”

This tour is open solely to GAS 2011 Seattle attendees who have registered for the tour and take GAS-provided transportation to Pilchuck. Tour participants have the option of adding on the free Day of Glass – Everett stop-over.

Minimum 40 people.

Seattle Studio Tour
Wednesday, June 1, 9 am - 5 pm
Price: $120

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience the broad variety of the Northwest’s vibrant glass scene and get an insider’s look at private studios, hot shops, and traditional hand-blown stained glass.

The tour will depart from and return to the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and you will visit both established and emerging Seattle glass artists, a growing production business, one of the few studios in the U.S. making stained glass using traditional processes, and a prominent manufacturer of fusing-compatible flat glass.

Scheduled stops for the day are the studio of Martin Blank, the studio of Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz, the studio of Jenny Pohlman and Sabrina Knowles, Studio Fifty Four Sixteen, Fremont Antique Glass, and glassybaby.

Price includes site tours, Q&As, box lunch, and transportation.

Minimum 20 people; maximum 100.

Collectors Tour
Wednesday - Saturday, June 1 - 4
Price: $1,250 (GAS member), $1,350 (non-member)

The Glass Art Society has created a special events package for collectors who want to be present when the glass-loving city of Seattle plays host to 1,500 glass enthusiasts. Below is a brief description of the Collectors Tour, led by art consultant Dena Rigby.

  • Attend the conference Collectors Panel moderated by curator Margery Aronson.
  • Attend the Gallery Hop in Seattle and the conference Closing Night Party at the Seattle Art Museum.
  • Have free time to attend conference lectures.
