Róisín de Buitléar has worked with glass since 1982, drawing inspiration from her Irish cultural heritage. She lives and works in Dublin as an independent artist working with glass as a primary material. She has several site-specific installations in public buildings throughout Ireland.
She also teaches internationally while writing and lecturing on contemporary Irish glass. She taught at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin from 1986 - 2005 and also in the UK, Japan, USA and France. She is currently working on two major exhibitions of glass sculpture for 2012/13 expanding on her experience of participatory and collaborative practice. Her artworks are represented in public and private collections in Ireland, Britain, Japan, and USA.
