Evan Burnette is currently an MFA candidate at Ball State University in Muncie Indiana. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, his mother (now retired) was a community theater organizer and U.S. History teacher, his father a professional photographer. Evan graduated with his BFA from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. After graduation Evan moved to the Pacific Northwest where he taught glassblowing to the public in both Oregon and Alaska, and in 2008 Evan started his own company, Local Art Glass. To date, Evan has had five solo shows across the country. His work has received finalist status in The Illinois Governor’s Colligate Art Competition, The Rickert Ziebolt Trust Awards, The National Sculpture Society Awards, and the Niche Awards, among others. Evan expects to graduate with his MFA from Ball State in the spring of 2017. He hopes to pursue a university teaching career.
