After receiving her BFA from Alfred University in 1992, Leslie traveled the country finally choosing Seattle, WA as her home. During her seven years there she focused on making and showing her glass and mixed-media sculpture work. Her teaching practice was based at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle but it also took her across the country and into Canada to work at Pilchuck Glass School, Red Deer College and Urban Glass. In 2001 she decided to return to school at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL where she made her work, taught, facilitated the Glass Program and received her MFA in 2004.
After graduate school Leslie moved to Miami, FL where she had her first university teaching job as a Lecturer in 3D Design at the University of Miami. She then taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art as an Adjunct in the Glass Department before moving to Chicago, IL in 2006.
Leslie is the owner of Chicago Glass Collective in Chicago, IL which will open its doors on November 1st 2012. She will also teach and make her work at her new studio.
