Lisabeth Renee, MFA, PhD, is the co-owner and design director of Nartique Glass. She has been a professional artist and art educator for 40 years.
For the past 15 years, she has been totally focused on working in glass, often collaborating with her husband, John Witanowski to create Nartique Glass Studio Works and Nartique Unique Artisan Glass.
Liz obtained her early formal art training at SUNY Buffalo, The Art Students' League and Parson's New School for Social Research in New York City. She received her MFA in sculpture at Long Island University.
For the Past 40 years, Liz has taught art in NY and Florida, at all age levels and in a number of local colleges. She taught in the Fine Arts Foundation Program at Long Island University, CW Post Campus in Greenvale, NY, taught all levels of drawing at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, was the Co-Ordinator of Art Education at the University of Central Florida (where she earned her doctorate), and later taught Art and Humanities courses at Valencia Community College, while maintaining the position of Art Gallery Director on their West Campus in Orlando.
Her art has been exhibited extensively in Florida and New York, including a number of national museum exhibitions. She has edited and published a number of articles in educational art journals, and has also published a book on Aesthetics in 1996. She has received numerous awards and grants for her art and her innovative teaching programs.
Liz is happiest when creating art. Her greatest pleasure is working with all forms of glass and inspiring others to make and appreciate the beauty of art glass!
