Alex Stisser has been working with hot glass for over 20 years. After earning a B.F.A. in Glass in 1996 from Illinois State University, he has worked in many studios from New England to Seattle. He began working at Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA when the museum opened in 2002 as one of the gaffers in the hot shop. The museum’s artist in residence program allowed him the exciting opportunity to work with artists from all over the world. In 2010, he moved his family back to central Illinois to pursue a career in farming, as well as glass, on his family’s seventh generation farm.
