At the age of 40, Kathleen left her career in organizational development and training to pursue her dream of being an artist. With several years’ experience making glass beads as a hobby; she attended Pilchuck Glass School, founded by artist Dale Chihuly, where she returned to teach in 2012. Kathleen’s love of nature led her to make glass botanical sculptures. She makes 3 dimensional trompe-l'œil botanical sculptures, and fantastical sculptures depicting plants from other realities. Her work has earned recognition in the international glass community as well as numerous awards and publications, most recently a review in Sculpture Magazine. Kathleen’s work is held in several prominent collections including the permanent collection of the Oakland Museum of California, the Weyerhaeuser collection, and the Ted and Melissa Lagreid collection, and is shown throughout the country in museums, art centers and galleries. She resides and operates her studio in Cupertino, California.
