Steven A. Ramsey grew up in Houston, Texas and was a graduate of the first class to complete the three year program at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio where he earned his BFA in glass. Steven continued his education earning his MFA, in glass, from Illinois State University.
In his post graduate years Steven has worked as a production glass artist, illustrator, design manager and Art Director. His illustrations have been featured on the cover of Printwear Magazine; Digital Screen and Display Magazine; and his digital art has been featured at SIGGRAPH and MacWorld Expo.
Steven left the corporate world in 2001 to teach Glass at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Steven's glass work has been recognized three times by the Corning Museum of Glass in their annual international review of contemporary glass art: New Glass Review, as well as other national and international art exhibitions. Steven is represented by Marta Hewett Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio and Gallery 72 in Omaha, Nebraska. He currently serves as the head of the Glass and Sculpture program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
