A native of Seattle, Nancy Current uses handblown Fremont Antique stained glass as a canvas, resulting in a distinctive type of glass art influenced by painting, drawing and printmaking. Working in series on both glass and paper allows her to adapt techniques such as monotype, screenprinting and pastel drawing to glass. Her interest is in expressing the nature of emotional and spiritual experience in glass. She credits Patrick Reyntiens with having the greatest influence on her work. The artist has taught glass painting at Pratt FAC in Seattle, the Pilchuck Glass School and at Bildwerk Frauenau in Germany.
