In 2009 at SOFA Chicago, Harry Pollitt, who had been sculpting in wood for 40 years, was introduced to the idea of venturing into the sculptural cast glass field by a glass collector. The medium was totally foreign and the implications completely unknown, but Pollitt was enticed by the concept and is now fully committed to producing his work in this "new light." Since the beginning of this absolutely unexpected and dramatic adventure, Pollitt has produced 27 glass pieces. Taking the twists, turns and flow that are innate to his art, he transformed them into luminous, undulating glass sculptures -- several having joined prestigious private collections. He is represented by Traver Gallery, Riley Galleries and Holsten Gallery. In 2013, he was named a Rising Star by AACG; represented by Riley Galleries at GlassWeekend2013, Art Palm Beach, and, for a third year, at SOFA Chicago. Plateaux Gallery, London, Mayfair, also represented him at The Saatchi Gallery Collect in 2013. Harry works and lives with his wife, Gaye, in Santa Fe.
