Natasha Natale is a glass artist living in Adelaide, South Australia. At the end of 2011, she completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) focusing on glass blowing at the University of South Australia.
During her time at the university, she has been taught by an array of skilled glass artist including: Dale Roberts, Mel Fraser, Gabriella Bisetto, Jess Loughlin and Kirstie Rea. She has also had the privilege of assisting Mandy King, Tyler Rock, Julia Reimer, Hayley Carpenter and Zoe Woods.
Natasha has been studying glass for the past 3 years. During this time she has taken part in workshops including: Ben Edols, Kathy Elliott and Tom Rowney at the Jam Factory.
Natasha’s glass work is all hand blown. Her artwork is heavily cold worked using processes including sandblasting and diamond saw cutting. She enjoys pushing glass to its breaking point using these techniques.
The beauty which she finds in decomposing nature is the main influence on her work. She is fascinated with textures and patterns found in deteriorating plant life and portrays this quality through the elegant and fragile qualities of glass.
She is currently an artist in residence at the University of South Australia.
