Anna Louise Curnes, dubbed “Anna Lou” by her mother, is a southern-loving, Texas-bred, Dallas-based, Chicago-operating glass artist.
After receiving her B.A. in Spanish and studio art from Wake Forest University, Anna continued her art studies under fused glass artist and welder Becky Johnson, glass-blower Mark Mitsuda, and glass-blower Joe Ivacic. She launched Anna Lou Glass in 2012 and has since created a plethora of one-of-a-kind accent items for residential and commercial interiors. Her handmade pieces range from serving platters and dishes to sculpted flowers and large-scale mural installations.
Anna has two studios: one in Dallas and one in Chicago at the Fulton Street Collective. What she loves most about the glass art industry is that she can create beauty out of the broken and work with the fluidity of glass’ natural characteristics to create truly unique pieces.
