Third Degree Glass Factory

Third Degree Glass Factory was founded in 2002 by Jim McKelvey and Douglas Auer. The not-for-profit studio serves the St. Louis community as the only public access glassblowing facility in the area, and in its first three years has ignited and inspired an emerging young community of glass artists. Third Degree offers beginning and intermediate glassblowing and flameworking classes, community demonstrations, and a gallery featuring work by local glass artists.

Aunt Gladys – Southern Illinois University (SIU) Mobile Glassblowing Studio

SIU's mobile glassblowing studio, affectionately known as "Aunt Gladys," is a fully equipped facility specifically designed to bring the art and craft of working molten glass to audiences interested in experiencing first-hand the techniques and processes related to contemporary glassmaking. The mobile glass studio was designed and created in 1969. Its first public out-of-state demonstration was held at Spring Arbor College in Michigan in 1972, and, after more than 30 years of demonstrations and workshops throughout the
United States, it is still "on the road."

The Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) Hot Glass Roadshow

The CMOG Hot Glass Roadshow is a unique, mobile, state-of-the-art glassmaking studio that houses a 300-pound glass melting furnace, two glory holes, an iron warmer, and an annealer.  It includes a full complement of irons, blowpipes, and hand tools that enable glassmakers to make a wide variety of hand-blown items. Approximately 28 feet long and 8 feet wide, the Hot Glass Roadshow runs on natural gas or propane. The Roadshow has traveled to the streets of New York City, SOFA Chicago, the 2002 Winter Olympics, the 2003 GAS conference in Seattle, and most recently to five cities in Australia, including Adelaide for the 2005 GAS conference. There's no other mobile studio in the world like the CMOG Hot Glass Roadshow.
