Translations and Transformations: Glass in Venice and America, 1950-2006
May 12 - September 16

Presenting approximately 100 works, this exhibition will examine the links between Venice and America and their significance, from mid-1950s sculptor Robert Willson’s exploratory visit to Murano and the commissioning of work from American designers by the Venini factory to present-day artists, such as Lino Tagliapietra and Josiah McElheny. Entry fee $10.

Chihuly at the Conservatory: A Garden of Glass

Heralded as one of Chihuly’s most intimate of artistic efforts, this exhibition presents Chihuly’s dramatic sculptures within one of Pittsburgh’s historic cultural gems. Entry fee $7.50.

Allure of Japanese Glass

PGC presents its first international exhibition of glass artists from Japan featuring both established and emerging artists who work in a full range of glass art methods and techniques. Although these artists are well known in their

Metamorphosis: A Celebration of the Bead

Metamorphosis will showcase the exemplary work of some of the finest glass beadmakers. This show is sponsored by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers and the Heinz History Center. The Glass Art Society publicizes these workshops as a benefit to members. The workshops are not planned, organized, or administered by GAS.
