Article Submissions and Ideas

GAS NEWS welcomes submissions from members. There are several ways for members to contribute to GAS NEWS:

1. Member Profile

Each issue highlights one GAS member. GAS members are artists, galleries, manufacturers and suppliers, museum personnel, writers and more. This forum gives members an opportunity to share their work, experience and thoughts with other members. GAS NEWS welcomes Member Profile submissions. Artists send 3-5 slides or digital images of your best work, a brief bio and artist statement (300 words max.); all other members send a brief bio and applicable images to the Communications Coordinator at the GAS office. If possible, please correlate profiles to current events in your glass-related life. This focus can be anything, including but by no means limited to: a recent show, commission, new business, new project, endeavor or publication. It can also include an overview of glass activities in your region.

2. Student Profile

Similar to the Member Profile, the Student Profile highlights one GAS student member. Students, get published and get yourselves known! Send an artist's statement, a brief bio, 3-5 slides or digital images of your best work, most recent work and your name, address and contact information to the Communications Director at GAS.

3. Critical Issues

Which artists or designers do you admire and why? How do you make decisions about your own work as you create it? What criteria do consider in selecting pieces for your gallery, exhibitions or collection? The Critical Issues column contains articles analyzing, classifying, interpreting, or evaluating artistic works involving glass. All suggestions and ideas are welcome. Submit your ideas and comments on "Critical Issues" to the Communications Director at GAS.

4. International Window

GAS has members in 50 countries. The international language of art speaks loudly and clearly in glass! Each issue we highlight one or more countries or events outside the U.S. Do you live outside the U.S.? Tell us about the glass community in your area. Have you recently attended a seminar or conference outside the U.S.? Write us about your experiences! Pictures and text welcomed.

5. Letters to the Editor

We always want to hear from members! Tell us what you think about GAS, glass in general, the GAS newsletter, GAS NEWS, or a particular article you read in GAS NEWS
