GAS has reserved a block of single and double rooms at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. We negotiated a special rate of $127++ per night and a discounted self-parking rate of $14 per car per day for conference attendees (prices do not include tax).

Delta Airlines: Discount on flights to Norfolk International Airport (ORF). Reservations and ticketing are available via www.delta.com/meeting. Driving Directions

From Norfolk International Airport (ORF) to the Norfolk Waterside Marriott:

Drive: Exit airport and take Norview Avenue. Turn left onto VA 165 South (North Military Highway) which becomes US 13 South. Merge onto I-264 West towards Norfolk. Take the East City Hall Avenue exit (exit 10). Turn left onto St Pauls Boulevard and turn right onto East Main Street. Hotel will be on your right.

Alternate Transportation from the Airport: Orange Peel Transportation ($30 USD), bus service ($25 USD), taxi ($25 USD). All fare estimates are one way.

From Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) to the Norfolk Waterside Marriott:

Drive: Take I-64 Southeast across and through Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel into Norfolk and then take exit 277A (Tidewater Drive South). Merge onto Tidewater Drive South, follow signs for Waterside Drive and merge onto it. Turn right onto Atlantic and first left onto East Main Street.

Alternate Transportation from the Airport: Carey/VIP and Celebrity Limousines ($45 USD), bus service ($80 USD), taxi ($80 USD). All fare estimates are one way.

 

Getting Around Norfolk

F.R.E.D. (Free Ride Every Day): A free battery-operated vehicle located downtown, available for riders over 8 years of age. To ride, call 757-478-7233 during operating hours. www.downtownnorfolk.org/go/fred.

GAS Shuttles: Glass Art Society shuttles will operate on a regular basis from the Norfolk Waterside Marriott to other conference venues in the mornings and evenings of June 1-3. Detailed schedules will be posted at www.glassart.org/2017shuttle.html

Taxis: Black and White Cabs offers 24-hour taxi service in Norfolk. Call 757-855-4444.

The Tide: Norfolk’s light rail system has eleven stations providing access to dining, shopping, entertainment in the downtown area. Information at www.gohrt.com/services/thetide.

Uber and Lyft: Download apps to reserve convenient rides in and around Norfolk via Uber (uber.com) or Lyft (lyft.com).

Walking: The 2017 GAS conference venues are walkable, all located within a one-mile radius.
