Student Representative to the GAS Board of Directors

The Glass Art Society Board Student Representative is a vital position on our Board and we encourage all student members to apply.

The student representative functions as the primary intermediary (and liaison) between that part of the GAS membership that is comprised of students and the general membership (as represented by the standing board). Once on the Board, the student is placed on the Board's Education Committee and works closely with the committee's chairperson.

The International Student Exhibition takes place at the Annual GAS Conference.  All Glass Art Society student members who are currently enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program are invited to participate. All work must be current, original, professionally crafted, and contain glass as the main element.

Previously, more than $6,000 in cash and supplies have been awarded. The first prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash award from The Corning Museum of Glass. All award winners will be acknowledged in the Glass Art Society 2010 Journal. Sales are encouraged at this event with students receiving 80% of the sale price.
