Tell us about yourself.

Glass artist for 35 years. Enjoy boatbuilding in spare time.

What draws you to the material you work with?

Glass is a medium of light. By absorbing, refracting and reflecting, it simulates a sense of energy. As inanimate materials go, it is the closest substitute for life I can figure.

What themes do you pursue in your work, and why have you chosen the processes that you use in your work?

My work has a background theme of rebirth and regeneration that an inherent is part of the technique I use ( smashing and fusing) It represents a cycle of sorts. Beyond that, I am interested in the unspoken words that are always present.

What is your dream project?

I would love to make a facsimile of “The Last Supper” with glass marionettes… or something like that.

Why are you a member of GAS?

I can always use some new perspective and who knows? Maybe I have something to offer.
