Face Facts with Jodie McDougall
November 4, 2017
Murrine is an ancient technique of layering glass in such a way that one can achieve very fine details in a small space.
In this class the student will learn the fundamentals of a complex murrini while creating a face cane. Emphasis will be on the basics of the construction and heat control. The elements of cold working will also be discussed. During the Geisha Bead Demo, students will learn the application of their creation from applying murrini, to creating and using stamen and ribbon cane, with metal inclusions in glass.
