The Glass Art Society, a non-profit organization seeks a Membership & Development Assistant to support the Glass Art Society office. This position is frequently the initial external face and voice of the Association, requiring a positive attitude and excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. The successful candidate understands the value of initiative and can work independently on assigned projects or as a member of the small Glass Art Society team.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Answer email and telephones and direct inquiries
  • Process new and renewing memberships and mailings
  • Enter information into and maintain extensive database
  • Coordinate Membership committee
  • Actively coordinate and execute committee projects
  • Registrar for conference – process forms and follow up with attendees
  • Manage Conference Sponsorships – communication, tracking and thank you’s
  • Travel to and work registration at annual Conference
  • Maintain organizational calendar
  • Manage office equipment and supplies
  • Process outgoing/incoming mail, parcels, faxes and courier deliveries
  • Scan documents
  • Support exhibiting efforts with organizing and shipping materials
  • Other duties as assigned/required by the Executive Director
  • Assist with Development efforts
  • Research grant and funding sources
  • Annual Appeal - market, process donations and send thank you letters
  • Assist in special event production

NOTES: Local Residents Preferred (No Relocation)

Candidate will have:

  • Strong attention to detail and be highly organized
  • Interest in the arts (knowledge of glass a plus)
  • BA or Equivalent
  • One to two years experience in administrative support preferred
  • Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of network and database operations
  • Website and Social Media skills are desired
  • Experience with events a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills a must
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
