 Tell us about yourself …

After my schooling, Artistic high school and Academy of Fine Art in Turin, the city where I was born and I live, I spent many years freehand drawing and painting with tempera, oils and frescoes. I soon left my teacher’s desk of  pictorial disciplines in a High school, to create my own glass studio and totally dedicate myself to glass and its techniques. My specific interest for the glass world is almost 33 years old and it shortly became not only my profession, actually it takes most of my free time too!

Why do you work with glass as a medium?

I choose to work with glass in order to spend most of my time close to it. I started from an early age working with stained glass windows but I have also worked with fusion, glass mosaic, kiln casting and lampworking technique.

What  themes do you pursue in your work?

Most of my works have been started with a theme from customers, though they leave me with plenty of freedom for interpretation.

What is your dream project ?

My dream project is to continue with my technical experiments, using all the types of glass, I want to realize pieces of art using my knowledge and skill but also mixing in my memories and my emotions. I would like to spread my respect and passion for glass to other people.

Why are you a member of GAS?

GAS is like the sea, it is possible to find many different kinds of creatures from different places and cultures. Life in the glass world always finds a way to surprise me with its beauty, shapes and colors.

I am very interested in knowing the many kinds of creature that were swimming in the past or are swimming now in the fascinating waters that are the world of Glass Art.
