Boerne, TX, USA

Since the early 1990's when Kathleen saw a fused glass bowl in a gallery, she has been fascinated with exploring the world of fused and other hot glass techniques used to create beautiful glass art. Today she combines all of these hot glass methods to create modern glass art often incorporating other organic materials. “The richness and purity of color through the artistic medium of glass and its combinations is instrumental in making my life complete.” Kathleen’s original wall, window and free standing glass creations span a range from realism to abstract and from casual to refined elegance. A signature of hers is to use vintage wood window frames that have often been headed for a landfill and repurpose it as the framework and an important element of her art. More recently she has been repurposing 'scrap' glass from her studio to create unique glass that has become a focal element as seen in "Ripples of Clarity" which won Best of Show at the 2014 Texas Hill Country Invitational. My art is my play time, my meditation time….my 'reconnecting with me' time. I want people to feel freedom, fun and flow when they view my work.”
