Tisha Abrahamsen has been working with glass for over 30 years. She studied glass blowing with Marvin Lipofsky and jewelry fabrication with Alan Revere at the California College of the Arts from 1977 - 1981. Moving to Seattle, she worked as a production designer and glass blower at The Glass Eye Studio from 1981 - 1985. In the early years of The Glass Eye, the studio and staff were available for rent to many local and visiting glass artists.
As a staff member Tisha assisted various artists as such as, Dale Chihuly, Sonja Bloomdahl, Fritz Dreisbach, Benjamin Moore and Richard Royal to name a few. Through out that time, she studied at the Pilchuck glass school as a student with Ginny Ruffner and Paul Stankard and teaching assistant with Jan Erik Ritzman. She has also taught workshops in glass blowing, fusing and slumping in the early years of Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle.
Tisha successfully developed and ran her first business, Dreamer Creations, making blown glass jewelry from 1984 - 1989 at which time she sold the rights and designs to The Glass Eye Studio. She graduated in 1991 from The Evergreen State College with a B.A. in Art. Currently, she is the owner / designer of André Glass, hand blown glass jewelry. She lives with her family and works in Seattle, Washington.
