McDonagh received an MFA in Glass from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York in 2013. She received a BA in painting from the University of Central Florida and has attended residencies and symposiums at North Lands Creative Glass in Scotland and Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State. "Satori," her MFA thesis exhibition, was selected for publication in the Corning Museum of Glass' New Glass Review 35, Juried International Glass Publication. McDonagh has said glass is an endlessly inspiring medium that elevates her work and gives her the freedom to visually express herself.
She currently teaches glass around the country and for Florida Institute of Technology, runs a small flameworking business and is a furnace glassblower & demonstrator for the Arribas Brothers on Main Street in Disney’s magic Kingdom.
