After receiving a BA from U.C. Berkeley in Social Change, under the banner of the Interdepartmental Field Studies major, with a minor in Conservation and Resources Studies, in 1992, David began flameworking glass in 1994. David's work is included in public, private, and museum collections nationally and internationally. He has taught flameworking at various locations including the Pilchuck Glass School, the Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft, and the Niijima Glass Art Festival, in Niijima, Japan. David’s work addresses the relationships between people and nature, on an individual, personal, and societal level. David lives and works in Kenmore, WA.
