Karen Reid is a studio artist and a lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania. She has been involved with sculpture and kiln cast glass for over fifteen years. In 2006, Karen’s work was selected for e-merge, sponsored by Bullseye Glass Co., for emerging talent in studio glass. Karen’s piece "Creek" has been included in the Corning Museum of Glass publication New Glass Review 30, May 2009 and again in 2013 with her recent work "between". "Creek" received the honor of “Best in Show” in the international exhibition, BIGG: Breakthrough Ideas in Global Glass, sponsored by Steuben Glass. In 2017 Reid's work "between" was included in the award winning publication CAST, by Jen Townsend & Renee Zettle-Sterling.
Karen is comfortable working with mold making and glass casting on a significant scale. In addition to the large kiln-casting work, she is involved with the development of miniature glass components used in large-scale assemblages. Above all, she seeks projects that take extended time for reflection, planning and execution.
