Cathy Richardson is a studio glass artist who has worked in many different types of glass. She started as a stained glass artist but has been primarily making furnace and lampworked paperweights and small sculptures since 2000. She creates small environments in glass in her current work that capture the detail and beauty of both arranged and natural environments. She has recently included engraving, sandblasting, and cold work in her pieces to draw the viewers eye to the surfaces of the pieces as well as the interior. Cathy's work has been featured in the Bulletin of the Paperweight Collectors association and at shows around the country. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass, Kobe Lampwork Museum, Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass, and the American Museum of Glass.
