New York, NY, USA

Born in England, I received a Master of Arts degree from the Royal College of Art, London, and undertook further post-graduate study at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred. I have taught extensively in the US as well as in Canada and Europe; from 1994-2004 I was a Senior Lecturer in the Glass Workshop, Canberra School of Art, Australian National University, from 2002-2007 the Artistic Director for North Lands Creative Glass, Scotland and from 2012-2013 I was the Director of Education at UrbanGlass, Brooklyn, NY, charged with the task of re-establishing their education program after a two year hiatus. Throughout my career I have received a number of Fellowships, Visiting Artist Awards and Grants, including Fellowships from the Creative Glass Center of America, the New York Foundation for the Arts, Artist-in-Residence at The Studio of the Corning Museum, Visiting Artist at The Museum of Glass, Tacoma, and a New Work Grant from the Australia Council. I exhibit my work internationally and it can be found in many major museum collections world wide, including those of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Europaisches Museum fur Modernes Glas, Kunstsammlunger der Veste Coburg, Germany, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Corning Museum of Glass, The Toledo Museum of Art, and The Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Australia. Over the years as well as creating work, exhibiting and teaching, I have also undertaken a number of projects and part-time positions in the field of contemporary art and glass. These have taken the form of ongoing or one off events, which help place glass in the broader context.
