John Shoemaker creates sculpture utilizing glass, wood, steel, and other materials, and is a designer-maker of functional and decorative glass objects. His work channels inspiration from material history, traditional and industrial craftsmanship, nautical history, and mechanical forces. John received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and extended his training at Penland School of Crafts, Corning Museum of Glass, and Pilchuck Glass School. John recently completed the Emerging Artist-in-Residence at Duncan McClellan Gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida. John currently resides in Americus, Georgia, and is the sole proprietor of Apothecary Architecture.
