First City Art Center (FCAC) is a non-profit center for the arts located on the beautiful Gulf Coast in Pensacola, FL. FCAC has a campus consisting of six buildings; the Creative Warehouse containing the Glass Hot shop and Ceramics studio, Flame-working Studio, Gallery 1060, Classroom building, Youth Arts Program building, and a Main Office. Open Books, a non-profit bookstore, shares our campus. The Creative Warehouse (2500 sq. ft.) houses the hot shop, cold shop, flame-working shop, fusing equipment and a fully-equipped ceramics studio and kilns. The hot shop consists of two 300-pound gas furnaces, four glory holes, two large annealing ovens, pipe warmer, three benches, a color box, several electric kilns for casting/fusing/slumping, and an adjacent covered hangar space for construction projects. The studio is expanding as the art center’s programs continue to grow. Our cold shop has a water fed belt sander, a flat diamond wheel, a merker lathe, a drill press, a flex shaft and an 8” tile saw. Our lamp shop has 5 small torches and two midrange torches. We also have a Little Dragon on a 40 foot trailer for our mobile glass blowing studio.
