With a background in painting, Shelley Muzylowski Allen takes an investigative approach to sculpting glass, adding unconventional materials and complex patterning to the medium. Her inspiration comes from a wide variety of cultures, time periods, and artistic mediums.
Shelley holds a BFA from the Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, Vancouver, B.C. Her work is exhibited and collected nationally and internationally, and she has demonstrated her work around the world, including the 2010 GAS Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. In
autumn 2012, Shelley was invited to be a guest artist at Studio Salvadore on Murano, Italy.
