Alejandro Herrera Guiñazú

I was brought up in the art world inspired by my parents who bred me with the spirits of glass. I worked at my father´s Stained Glass studio from 1994 to 2004 and I have been tracking my father´s steps into Stained Glass and bronze sculptures in lost wax. In 2005 I opened my own studio. Since 2010 I have been attending courses in "The Studio" of "The corning Museum of Glass" and I have been working in kiln casting and cold working glass. Nowadays, my eagerness to grow, enduring curiosity and inspiring energy lead my way in the art of glass. My Art is represented in the transparency and the universe created by the color inside the glass with its unique three-dimensional depth, I come to my work based on a deep transcendental relationship between glass, metal and stones. The different textures created by these materials produce a contrast that made me come across with a new language through which I have been able to show my soul in every sculpture I create. These sculptures are born using the technique of "casting glass" and "Cold working"; their easily identifiable and simple shape, that allude to the celebration of the volume and movement.
