Davin Ebanks is currently the Assistant Professor (Head) of the Glass Program at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, USA. Davin is a glass sculptor whose current work utilizes an array of glass techniques to explore his personal and cultural history as a Caymanian. He was recently named a recipient of the 2016 Silver Star for Creativity in the Arts by the Cayman National Cultural Foundation for ten years “consistent and active, quality engagement in the celebration of Caymanian cultural heritage.” Davin has shown across the US and abroad, including "21st Century Glass"—an invitational show at Salisbury University—and the juried show "National Biennial Exhibition: Fine Contemporary Craft”. He is also in several permanent collections including a large-scale public sculpture that marks the entrance to the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (which also houses several of Ebanks' works).
