Crista Matteson’s work speaks of her love for the wild spaces of the Pacific Northwest, which she calls home. Her sculpture has recently been awarded a Collector’s Choice Award at Habatat Gallery’s International Glass Exhibit, a Juror’s Choice Award at Mesa Contemporary Art Museum, as well as a Juror’s Choice at the Schack Art Center and a Juror’s choice at Pratt Fine Art Center’s Annual Auction. Her sculpture has been published in Ceramic Monthly magazine. Matteson has worked as an assistant instructor teaching at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York and Pratt Art Center in Seattle. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Textiles from the California College of Art in San Francisco. Since then her pursuit of learning has never ceased. Having won several merit scholarship awards, Matteson studied glass and metal working at the Pratt Fine Art Center and figure sculpting in the Sculpture Atelier at Gage Academy in Seattle. In 2018 and 2019 she studied at Pilchuck Glass School.
