Kathryn Chaston is a farmer with a passion for working glass in the flame. Living in rural Australia she considers herself blessed to live in a diverse part of the country where sandy scrub blends into heavy red gum and buloke woodlands. Finding sustainable ways to conserve the environment and endangered species are goals within the farming enterprise and a love of nature flows into her glass work where native flowers and birds are a common theme.
With a family tradition and lifelong love of craft and art Kathryn took a beginners lampworking class in 2007 and loved the medium so much that she has been a voracious learner ever since. She has taken workshops with national and international glass artists in a constant drive to increase and improve her skills.
