Suzanne Brett

Manager and Curator of Kirra Galleries Melbourne Australia for twenty years which closed in October 2018 when the owner Peter Kolliner OAM retired. Currently Director of Australian Contemporary, an online gallery specialising in Australian Studio Glass, Sculpture and Jewellery. I have curated over 140 exhibitions of works by Australian and New Zealand artists. Thirteen of these were at SOFA Chicago over thirteen consecutive years. I trained as a gold and silversmith with an artist Jeweller in the early seventies specialising in carving wax and wax model making. My designs were realism and abstracted realism. I ran my own gallery and workroom for twenty years where I collaborated with glass artists to make a range of glass work that I could use as a canvas for my own sterling silver designs that included Australian wildlife and native flora. I exhibited and supplied galleries around Australia and the USA and taught wax model making. As part of my practice I work as a freelance designer, curator and advisor. I have worked in the industry for over forty years.
