I grew up in Pennsylvania, and moved to North Carolina in 2002. I received a B.S. in Education from Bloomsburg University (2002), and a M.Ed. from Winthrop University (2008). I loved the creativity of teaching, and working with middle school students, although burned out after eight years.
I found glass through the North Carolina Glass Center in 2016. I spent an afternoon observing the artists, and couldn’t wait to try a class. I took my first hot shop weekend, and was immediately hooked. I loved the medium of hot glass, the ability to shape it, and the excitement/frustration of the process. I continue to work at the glass center developing my skills as an artist and assistant. I am inspired by bright colors, nature, and the spirit of play.
