Tell us about yourself.
Disha Trivedi is a glass sculpture maker based in London, UK. Having successfully studied M.A. at the University of Creative Arts, Farnham, with major in blown glass, Disha has been active as a maker, exhibitor and educator of decorative glass art. Most of her designs are inspired from nature but her recent work is based on women empowerment and female body forms.
What draws you to the material you work with?
Glassblowing is a very overwhelming and magical form of craft. Whenever I work with blown glass, it mesmerizes me with the unlimited amount of potential that we can work with through blown glass process.
What themes do you pursue in your work, and why have you chosen the processes that you use in your work?
My themes are inspired from something close to my heart and also inspired by nature. However, my recent works are inspired by women’s inner strength and her being capable of achieving limitless success in life.
What is your dream project?
My dream project is an installation I would like to make to create awareness for climate change.
