The Glass Art Society strives to nurture our community’s growth and wellbeing through positive creativity, the pursuit of knowledge and skills, and sustainable practices.

One way in which we connect our community and break down barriers that block access to opportunities is through career development. Whether an artist, business owner, or somewhere in between, we have opportunities to learn from industry professionals. Continue to check back here as we develop more career development programs whether in-person or virtual!

Portfolio Reviews

Portfolio Reviews provide an opportunity for participants to have a 1:1 critique with an industry professional (gallery owners, curators, educators, or artists). If you are looking for feedback on a project, advice on how to build out your portfolio, or guidance on a material or technique, Portfolio Review may provide the help you’ve been looking for! GAS Member benefit. Available during the annual conference.

Research Presentations

Before the official name changed in 2019, this opportunity was formerly Poster Presentations. While the name has changed, the purpose has remained the same, which is to “invite Graduate students from accredited colleges to display & discuss research during the conference.” This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet conference attendees, discuss current topics and even collect information for continuing research. Through an online submission process, the GAS Education Committee reviews applicants and decides which are accepted to present.
