SCHOLARSHIPS

Our scholarship application for the 2024 Conference has closed. Scholarship applicants will be notified about their application status the week of February 19. Our scholarships are generously provided by:

Eddie & Angela Bernard Scholarship

The Eddie & Angela Bernard Scholarship is intended for emerging artists and those who require financial assistance to attend the annual GAS Conference. Each scholarship is worth $500 USD and can be used to help with conference admission, travel, and lodging costs.

Takako Sano International Conference Scholarships  

Takako Sano International Student Scholarships are generously supported by Akiko Sano and Natalia Saya Nagata in memory of Ms. Takako Sano. Scholarships are available for students and non-students living outside the conference country.

Becky Winship Flameworking Scholarship

This program is generously funded by David Winship and Lisa Bieber of Glasscraft, Inc. This scholarship is given to eligible students whose work and studies use flameworking techniques.

Iconic Yonic Scholarship

Funded by the glass collective Iconic Yonic’s sale of work from their Detroit 2023 presentation, this scholarship is intended for a female-identifying glass artist to attend the annual GAS Conference.

WORK EXCHANGE

Work Exchange Registration is now closed. If you have a work exchange pass and have questions, contact [email protected]

GAS staff will follow up after the work exchange registration deadline to provide you with links to the mandatory work exchange training sessions. You MUST attend one of two 1-hour online training sessions held in advance of the conference – March 27th at 9am ET or April 6th at 5pm ET. After training, GAS Staff will provide work exchange participants with their final work schedule no less than 3 weeks in advance of the conference. 

  • All Work Exchange participants must be current members of GAS through May 19, 2024. Membership fees are not included in the conference registration fee.
  • All Work Exchange participants must be 18 years or older. 
  • All Work Exchange participants must be able to clearly communicate in English.
  • All Work Exchange participants MUST attend one of two 1-hour online training sessions held in advance of the conference – March 27 at 9am ET or April 6th at 5pm ETAfter the work exchange deadline has passed, GAS staff will follow up with a link to attend the online training sessions. 
  • Jobs range from event set-up to badge checking. Most tasks are not physically demanding but may require moving boxes, carrying bulky items, sitting or standing or walking for periods of time. Job descriptions and their physical requirements will be available during training. 
  • If at any time you find that you cannot complete your Work Exchange responsibilities you must notify GAS staff immediately at [email protected] or by calling (206) 382-1305.
  • If you do not complete all 12 of your scheduled hours, you will be invoiced for the difference between the Work Exchange rate and the general on-site conference rate.
  • There will be no credit given for partially worked schedules.

GAS PARTIAL PAYMENT PLAN

The GAS Partial Payment Plan is an installment-based payment service provided by Glass Art Society to make it easier for you to cover the costs of attendance. This service is open to all registration types that meet the terms below.

When checking out, select PAY LATER to access the GAS Partial Payment Plan option. By selecting this option, you agree to pay an upfront deposit of $100 or 25% of your total (whichever is lowest) and 2 additional installments to complete your full registration payment by April 30, 2024. A member of the GAS staff will reach out to you within the next 2-4 business days to set up your first invoice and coordinate your payment plan. If you do not make all three payments or complete your full payment, your registration will be canceled and you will be refunded (if applicable) according to our posted refund schedule.

TERMS: Registration fee balances must be $100 or more to qualify for the GAS Partial Payment Plan (available through April 30, 2024). Beginning May 1, 2024, all fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
