Kayla Cantu is a fat, female, half-mexican, bisexual artist who utilizes glass, video, photography, and mixed media. Through questioning society’s understanding of normality and abnormality, her practice explores curiosities of unruly bodies.
What draws you to the material you work with?
I am drawn to kiln casting because there is a duality between process and human capability. I parallel this practice with how I fill voids within myself.
