Explore the art of glass storytelling! This 3-day workshop delves into the intricacies of conveying narratives using molten glass, focusing on the use of enamels and decals in the hot shop. Suitable for all skill levels, this professional development opportunity invites participants to channel their creativity into a new glass genre. No prior experience required—just a dedication to the craft and a commitment to bringing imaginative narratives to life. Join us for an enriching exploration of glass artistry.
There will be demos in basic blowing shapes and a hand sculpting demo. There will also be enameling and decal demos and how to fire pieces in the hot shop. We will use the pieces we make and apply enamel decals and paints to create imagery on the glass. Then we will pick them back up in the hot shop to fire and have another opportunity to add bits or change the shape. Contacts and resources will be provided to create your own enamel decals.
