Still in Love – Group exhibition and residency opportunity

From S12 Gallery and Workshop, in collaboration with Northing Space Bergen, Norway.
S12 is a non-profit open access studio and gallery – a resource centre specialising in glass art and design. We run an international Artist in Residence program, welcoming in particular those who like to experiment with glass in all its diversity, and in combination with other materials. We have a gallery space with an exhibition program that emphasises sculptural and installation based glass art.

Northing Space is a multi-functional cultural space in downtown Bergen, Norway. The main function of the space is to promote and mediate contemporary East Asian art and culture in Bergen, through exhibitions and cultural events.

The Exhibition:
Still in Love will be a biennial group exhibition arranged for the first time in the autumn of 2024. The exhibition will favour artists using an exploratory approach to glass as a medium, focussing on artists that have shown resilience in their artistic approach and maintained their experimental attitude over an extended time.
One of the selected artists will be invited for a residency at S12 to create a new work for the exhibition.
The exhibition in 2024 will be arranged and curated together with Northing Space in Bergen, and will take place in both venues.
Eligibility
We invite artists with a minimum of 7 years of active career post-university, who are working with glass alone or in combination with other materials to propose their work. Installation and video works are also considered.
Submission Requirements:
Your proposal should be in English, in one PDF document of maximum 10mb including:
- Photo of proposed work, maximum 2 works
- Information about materials used and dimensions
- Artist statement relating to the work
- Biography, CV, and a link to a webpage, instagram, or other relevant information
- Confirmation if you would like to be considered for a residency at S12 Gallery and Workshop. This should include a brief proposal of what you would like to achieve during the residency
