Tell us about yourself.
My name is Jessi Moore and I am originally from Seattle Washington. I am currently based in Brooklyn, New York where I work as a freelance artist. I specialize in teaching, fabrication and I have my own small line of production glassware.
What draws you to the material you work with?
Glass is such an amazingly challenging material work with, there is always something more to learn about it. I love that I could spend a lifetime with it and still learn new things.
What themes do you pursue in your work, and why have you chosen the processes that you use in your work?
I’m intrigued by perception of color and by the human mind and memory.
What is something about you that most people don’t know?
My second job ever was a teaching assistant for a Sunday morning high school glassblowing program at Pratt Fine Arts Center.
